These are CONCACAF teams. For a good few years, Mexico has being invited to take part, along with another team chosen. This year the two teams that have being invited are Mexico and the USA. Unlike most tournaments, there is no qualification for the Copa America. There are always 12 places available, and each team that is eligible to play in it has a chance to enter. The teams that are entered into the tournament are done so by their performance in World Cup finals and qualifications in their confederations. There is no qualification for invitees to take part in either. The tournament is in its 42nd edition. It used to be held every two years but recently the CONMEBOL changed it to every four years. Argentina and Uruguay have won the most finals, and Argentina has also played the most games, with 353. Although Argentina has won a lot of tournaments, they have not won it since 1993 when they beat Mexico, 2-1 in Ecuador. Most recently Brazil has being winning the tournament.
