The fans' favourite to replace Ronnie Jepson as Gills manager has seemingly ruled himself out of contention. Micky Adams currently has 46% of the vote in the Vital Gillingham poll over who should be the new boss, but he is now looking likely to stay where he is after revealing he is 'very, very happy' with the assistant manager role he has at Colchester. Adams began his playing career at Priestfield and after leaving Coventry earlier this year, he is keen to get back into management, it seems the Gills will not be his destination. He told the Colchester Gazette: 'My situation has not changed from day one. 'It's flattering to be linked and I still want to be a manager but the arrangement is still the same. 'It will have to be the right opportunity for me and as I speak I'm very, very happy working for Colchester. |
