Niko Kranjcar confident of 3 points

Niko Kranjcar believes that Pompey's away days blues will end this weekend at Blackburn, as he has told the Pompey Site that Pompey have belief that they can end the baron run away from Fortress Fratton.

Kranjcar is certainly confident that things will change: 'one of the most important things in football is to have belief in yourself and then put in the effort to reward that belief.

'We know our away form hasn't been great, but we believe that we can turn it around.

'We believe that we can win this weekend - now we just have to go out there and do it.

'We'll give Blackburn a good game and at the end of it hopefully we'll come away the better team and have the point to show for it'.

Boxing Day 2006 was the last time Pompey won away, pushing on for 9 months again now - which is a shockingly long time!

I have made it perfectly clear that I fear for our chances in this match with Blackburn - if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here - so I would settle for a point, but if the players can all share Kranjcar's belief, which they should really as we are awesome at home, then why not - lets do it.

I am pretty sure that Harry Redknapp will go for a 5 man midfield, which although I would rather see an orthodox 4-4-2, if he played a 4-5-1 - which I hate - so long as Kranjcar or Pedro Mendes came back in I would be okay-ish.

Also, if he went for the 4-5-1 I would love Benjani or David Nugent to be used as the lone striker - unlikely I know, as we all know it will be Kanu as usual! - and Kranjcar - probably just getting in ahead of Mendes for this game - in the middle of midfield in a free role, an almost supporting role in place of Sean Davis, with Papa Bouba Diop and Sulley Muntari either side and Matty Taylor on the left, John Utaka on the right I would be happy.

The above is almost certainly not going to happen as it will be the usual suspects, but we need some creativity in midfield and some movement up front and Kanu will not offer this, I would much prefer he started on the bench, coming on to turn the match if needed. A super sub was the role I expected him to play this season but Redknapp just will not leave him out.
