And the Owls boss must be delighted that the loan move is working out well for the young striker, after Clarke netted from the spot on the hour mark to give the Shrimpers all three points. Clarke has also netted, and had a hand in goals, in his two other appearances in the Southend shirt, in their matches against Oldham Athletic and Gillingham. The 22-year-old has signed for the club on loan until January and could well see his deal with the League One club extended should he continue on the goal trail, starting against Blackpool in the League Cup on Tuesday night. |
