The FA Cup has traditionally been the English domestic cup where history is made. Over the years, we have seen some enthralling football and massive shocks in the competition, and this is why there are many that love to watch it. If you don't know where you can watch the FA Cup live, OleOleFootball.com has now started showing it through their live football online channels, so watch the action now! Just a few years ago, we saw perhaps the most thrilling match in history when Liverpool beat West Ham United on penalties. The Hammers took the lead twice before being pegged back with the last kick of the game by Liverpool talisman Steven Gerrard, and Pepe Reina redeemed himself for his blunders in the match with the penalty saves that brought Liverpool the trophy.
Last year's FA Cup live final did not match the one before it, however it still remained a gripping match for fans of the two teams. Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 thanks to a Didier Drogba goal in extra time, and for large parts of the game it could have gone either way. Although the FA Cup is generally dominated by the top four teams, there can be surprises along the way as shown in the past. Millwall famously reached the final in 2003/04, and although they lost 3-0 to a strong Manchester United side they won a place into the UEFA Cup. Sadly they were pitted against the Hungarian Champions and then lost, however that run showed how a smaller club from a lower division can benefit from a strong run- both on the pitch and off it financially.
Manchester United have already been knocked out of the Carling Cup by Coventry City; they will do their hardest to make sure that they do not suffer the same fate in the FA Cup. While the ties for this year's tournament have not been drawn yet, both Liverpool and Arsenal will be gunning for the trophy as well. Liverpool may not have the strength to win the Premiership title; however as they have shown they are very strong in tournaments with a knockout format and should go far yet again. As for Arsenal, the Gunners have soared to the top of the Premiership after some stellar form and will look to awe crowds with the brand of silky football they play best.
The third round ties of the FA Cup are tentatively scheduled for January 5th , 2008. This is when the 'big names' of the competition come in, as well as new signings from the winter transfer window. All clubs will be eagerly waiting to challenge for this year's tournament, and we should yet again see a few surprises along the way. OleOleFootball.com will start showing the FA Cup from that day onwards too, so should you want to watch it you should visit the website and find out how their live FA Cup football feeds work today. Even if you don't like the teams playing in it, the FA Cup is worth watching for the atmosphere and drama alone- so make sure you don't miss it.
