Bayern Munich improved their position in the German Bundesliga hugely this past weekend when they managed to beat Hannover away. They have now moved to fourth in the table from a previous seventh before the weekend’s games. This Friday coming they entertain Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena and this is a game you can watch live and online right here at oleolefootball.com – live streaming football from Germany at its very best.
On Sunday afternoon, Bavarian giants Bayern Munich travelled to Hannover knowing that anything other than a victory would be disastrous in their quest to regain their Bundesliga crown. They had been in a lowly (for them) seventh position in the league table. As it happened, they won the game very easily by 3-0 and in conjunction with other scores that went their way, they moved up to fourth position in the table with 24 points. They are still six points behind current leaders Bayer Leverkusen though, as they also managed to win at the weekend; 4-0 at home to Stuttgart.
Goals from Muller in the nineteenth minute of the first half, and Olic and Gomez in the 47th and 90th minutes respectively, sealed the crucial win for Bayern and came at just the right time. The mutterings of discontent in recent weeks was set to reach a crescendo this weekend hade Bayern failed to win, but the three points has calmed the waters somewhat and another win on Friday evening will see calm return to the Bayern ship.
Borussia Monchengladbach, for their part, also enjoyed a victory at the weekend, defeating Schalke 1-0 at home with an early fifth minute goal being the decider. They are currently in eleventh position in the Bundesliga and have eighteen points to their name.

Jurgen Klinsmann paid the ultimate price for Bayern’s inconsistent form this season, when he was dismissed following the teams 1-0 home defeat to Schalke last weekend, although they are still only three points behind leaders Wolfsburg with five games remaining, The Bayern hierarchy deemed the performances and results of late unacceptable, and probably had their hand forced when the fans turned on the team after last weekend’s defeat. They play at home again this coming weekend, when they take on Borussia Monchengladbach in a game they just have to win. Last weekend’s tempestuous match against Schalke at the Olympic Stadium in Munich ended in a 1-0 defeat for the home team. In a game that saw seven yellow cards and two sending offs, Bayern were never at the races and Schalke’s relatively early goal (21st minute) sealed the deal. Bayern are now third in the table, three points behind leaders Wolfsburg and one behind second placed Hertha Berlin. More worryingly for them though, is the fact that they are only in third spot virtue of a better goal difference than both Stuttgart and Hamburg.
Quite how the team will regroup after the Klinsmann sacking is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for sure, they have to start putting a few results together or they’ll not only miss out on the league, they could even miss out on Champions League football next season.
Borussia come into the game on the back of a 1-1 home draw with Arminia Bielefeld and are in serious trouble at the wrong end of the table. They are second last (seventeenth) with 24 points, two from safety.
