Rovers were trounced 5-0 by Chelsea on Saturday, and their already depleted squad was further hit by the news that three players had been diagnosed with swine flu. David Dunn and Chris Samba, who missed the Chelsea defeat due to illness, are two of the alleged victims.

Former Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda and Australian Vincenzo Grella are out with calf and knee injuries respectively. Franco Di Santo is expected to return to the first XI after being ineligible to play in the weekend game against Chelsea. Rovers qualified for the fourth round with a scrappy 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, a game which the latter dominated, but could not convert their superiority into goals.

Peterborough had an encouraging result at the weekend as they beat Scunthorpe United 3-0. George Boyd put in a wonderful individual performance for Posh, having a hand in each of the three goals scored by Darren Ferguson’s side. Peterborough are playing in the fourth round of the League Cup for the first time since the 1993/94 season.

Posh have some injury problems too. Paul Coutts and Tom Williams continue to remain on the sidelines, while Craig Mackail-Smith and and Gabriel Zakuani are doubts. Ryan Bennett, Scott Griffiths and Danny Rose are all cup tied, having featured for another club in the previous rounds of the competition.
