In saying that though, last Thursday evening his team travelled to Benfica for a Europa Cup tie, followed by six thousand of their fans, but they were thrashed 5-0 and this result will raise some question marks.

In the last round of the Carling Cup, Everton travelled to Hull City and beat the home team easily 4-0. Goals from Yakubu, Jo, Gosling and Osman did the damage and was enough to seal the deal.
