Burnley had to came from behind late on to ensure the replay in the original tie at The Hawthorns. Graham Alexander had sent the Championship side into the lead on 25 minutes with a well-taken penalty, before a stunning volley from outside the box from Robert Koren and 20-yard deflected free-kick from Do-heon Kim put the Baggies into the lead. Burnley upped the tempo in the second half but could not find a way past West Brom keeper Scott Carson as either side threatened to score, but with two minutes to go cup hero Martin Paterson turned in a low cross to force the replay.

Burnley continue to impress fans and media pundits alike this season as they ride high in 8th position and will certainly not be seen as an easy win after an incredible Carling Cup run this season which saw them reach the semi-final against Tottenham, only to lose late in extra-time after a fantastic two-leg affair.

West Brom will be without Jonathan Greening after the midfielder was ruled out for six weeks after the original tie against Burnley as well as Leon Barnett, Shelton Martis and Jonas Olsson who are all injured. Paul Robinson will be with the squad after having his red-card rescinded following West Brom’s 5-0 defeat against league leaders Manchester United, with the original decision ruling out the defender.
