Three days after playing each other in the Premier League at the Reebok Stadium, Arsenal and Bolton go again in the same competition on Wednesday evening, this time at the Emirates. The Wednesday game is a match that was postponed earlier in the season and is Arsenal’s one game in hand over their rivals. Tune into oleolefootball.com on Wednesday evening and enjoy live streaming coverage of this English Premier League game in all its glory.
With Sunday afternoon’s result not yet known as this article has been written beforehand, Arsenal could conceivably be joint top of the Premier League table should they win both Bolton games. Although Chelsea, who are currently leading the table, also have a game in hand and as of yet do not know when this game will be played, they could find Arsene Wenger’s team joining them at the summit come next Wednesday evening.
Although Arsenal’s last league game (prior to the weekend results of course) ended in a 2-2 home draw with Everton, they have had a remarkable last couple of months, managing to make up a thirteen point deficit on Chelsea at the same time. They are undefeated in seven league games and in fact, the last defeat they suffered in the league was at home to leaders Chelsea.
For their part, the two games against Arsenal will go a long way to defining Bolton’s season. With Gary Megson sacked, they have a new manager in Owen Coyle in place. Talk about a baptism of fire. Before the weekend’s games, Bolton were eighteenth in the league table with eighteen points to their name.

Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers play their rearranged English Premier League game this coming Wednesday evening at the Emirates Stadium in North London. The Gunners are now unbeaten in their last six league encounters and this run includes five victories and one draw. They have shot up the table thanks to this run and if they beat Bolton, as expected, on Wednesday evening, they will climb to second in the table, just one point behind leaders Chelsea and one above Manchester United.
In the space of three days after Christmas, Arsene Wenger’s side have beaten Aston Villa 3-0 at the Emirates, and then travelled to Portsmouth in their last game beating the home side 4-1. The results of late proof that Arsenal are, so far at least, the real deal insofar as a title challenge is concerned and as long as the team can last the course, unlike last season, they will definitely be in the mix come the end of April.
Arsenals home form so far this season has been good. In the nine games they have played at the Emirates Stadium, they have won eight of them and only lost the one game and that was to league leaders Chelsea.
For their part, Bolton go into the game at the Emirates on the back of a 2-2 home draw with Hull. The result though was the final straw for the Bolton hierarchy and manager Gary Megson was sacked.
