Blackburn has been on a losing streak, having lost last two of its matches. Their performance otherwise too hasn’t been that praiseworthy. They have been able to win only three from their all ten matches, seated on the 17th position in the points table with a meagre 10 points. Last match too saw them perform awfully. Attack has been consistently poor up to now. The defence has been unable to play with will and coordination to get a desired result.
Portsmouth in their last league game showed some respite from the dismal run that they had been going through. Constantly being criticized for poor performance and their position at the bottom of the points table, it was time to rejoice as they pulled of a fantastic win against Wigan Athletic by 4-0. This performance was remarkably their best performance in this season up till now, and it surely brought some merriment for not only the team and its management but also for its fans all over. Dindane showed his class scoring a triple to seal the victory for Portsmouth. However great concern lies ahead as star defender Finnan and attacker Piquionne were injured during play and their chances to play this week are quite bleak.
As the crowds pour in at the Ewood Park, eager to watch their favourite men take field, it shall be a match worth watching for. Blackburn has to get over its losing streak and win is a must for them.
