Blackburn and Portsmouth meet at Ewood Park on Saturday, both hoping to secure three more vital points to make themselves safe from relegation. In their last outing Blackburn suffered a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City. Pompey were 3-0 down by half-time, courtesy of goals from Stephen Ireland, Robinho and Elano, before midfielder Keith Andrews got a consolation for Rovers. Despite that defeat Portsmouth look set to secure their Premier League status, the side from the south coast are seven points clear with just three games remaining.

Blackburn are struggling for strikers with Roque Santa Cruz and Jason Roberts both expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season. Their manager Paul Hart has insisted that Pompey are not safe yet and was disappointed that they didnt take their chances. Pompey will have to cope without influential midfielder Niko Kranjcar, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle problem. However defender Younes Kaboul may return to the squad, the Frenchman has missed the last two games through a thigh strain.
