Chelsea has been in phenomenal form this season. Their loss last week though was a poor display of football combined with some bad luck. Chelsea has lost only two of their total nine matches this season, winning the rest. In the last match against Aston fans also saw them go up in the 15^th minute as their star striker Drogba scored off a fantastic shot, scoring for the 7^th time in this campaign. His efforts though were later ruined as Chelsea’s defenders failed to take advantage of the lead and could not prevent Aston from levelling and then taking the lead to register a win in the end. Lampard though showed some respite and played well and should carry over that effort to this weekend.

Blackburn played really well in the last match. After being down only in the 4^th minute, they bounced back well and scored three consecutive goals to win the match in the end. Dunn kept his scoring shoes on and scored yet another classic goal to get his team level in the 8^th minute. The rest was done by Di Santo in the 20^th minute as scored his first goal for Blackburn. Chimbonda’s goal in the 42^nd minute sealed the win for the Blackburn Rovers. Di Santo though got injured later on and had to go off field and there is no word on whether or not he will play this weekend.

It will be an exciting match to watch as Chelsea is placed 2^nd in the points table and definitely will be fighting hard for a win this time as they take on Blackburn, who is placed 13^th. Chelsea host Blackburn at Ewood Park on Sunday, looking to catch Liverpool in second place. Chelsea defeated Arsenal 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium in their last game. Goals from Alex, Nicolas Anelka, an own goal from Kolo Toure and Florent Malouda gave Chelsea victory, with Nicklas Bendtner scoring a consolation for the Gunners.

The victory meant that Chelsea will definitely finish in the top three of the Premier League. That means that Chelsea will go straight into the Champions League group stages, without having to play in the qualifying rounds. The Blues will want to send their fans home happy in their final home game of the season, with victory in this clash.

Chelsea will have to do without Portuguese trio Deco, Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho, who are all unlikely to feature again this season. England international Joe Cole will also be sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Blackburn reached the 40 points total last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Portsmouth at Ewood Park. Morten Gamst Pedersen and Benni McCarthy scored the vital goals in that clash. With that win Blackburn look all but safe, only an amazing set of results could see Rovers relegated at the end of the season. Even though safety is nearly assured, Rovers will want to produce a good display against the Blues and make sure of their safety in style.

Blackburn will be without strikers Roque Santa Cruz and Jason Roberts, who are both unlikely to feature again for Rovers this season. Christopher Samba is likely to act as an emergency striker once again alongside Benni McCarthy.
