Everton have had a fantastic season, after a poor start to the season the recovery has been sensational. They currently lie 6th in the league table and are in the semi finals of the FA Cup, all this despite having a lengthy injury list, including losing star striker Yakubu early in the season. Their team spirit and battling qualities have seen them collect draws against Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea. Their injury list still hasn’t shortened recently with Mikel Arteta ruled out for the rest of the season.

As previously mentioned Everton have a long injury list, including Arteta, Yakubu and Victor Anichebe who are all out for the rest of the season. They are also without full backs Tony Hibbert and Nuno Valente. On-loan striker Jo will return to the team after being cup tied for the quarter final with Middlesbrough last Sunday. Makeshift striker Tim Cahill may move back into midfield and Jo playing upfront on his own.

Stoke come to Goodison needing the three points to secure their Premier league status. Tony Pulis’s side have fought hard this season and what they lack in quality they make up for in work rate. The Potters are currently just outside the relegation zone and one of the reasons for that is the recent form of former Everton striker James Beattie. The former England star never really impressed at Goodison, after arriving with a hefty price tag. The 31 year old striker has scored five goals in just seven league appearances, an impressive record. He will be the danger man for the Potteries side.

Dave Kitson has returned to Reading on-loan till the end of the season. James Beattie is likely to star upfront. Steve Simonsen may also start in goal for Stoke against his former team. Tony Pulis may opt for a 4-5-1, with Beattie as a lone striker. If he does start with a 4-4-2 then Ricardo Fuller will probably partner Beattie.
