Home team Aberdeen lost 3-0 at home to Motherwell this past Saturday and the result did not sit too well with their fans. This result followed on from two victories in the SPL, but the Dons were unable to continue this run. Prior to that they had only won one in five games, so their form of late has been rather up and down and not at all what was expected from them at the beginning of the season.

They are currently in seventh position in the SPL table and have 27 points to their name. This means they are a whole twelve points off the closet European slot available to them (fourth place) and at the moment they don’t appear to be able to close the gap.

Their home form this season has not been good at all and of the eleven games they have played at Pittodrie they have only won four times, drawing another two and losing five.

Falkirk are currently sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League standings and have actually been in that position for many weeks now. The fourteen points they do have is two behind the team directly above them in the league table, Kilmarnock.

Last time out they travelled to Ibrox to face leaders Rangers and as expected lost the game. The score was 3-0 to Walter Smith’s team.
