Nothing less than a victory against Hearts will do for Celtic if they are to retain the Scottish Premier League title this Sunday. Rangers lead Celtic by two points going into the final round of fixtures, but a loss or draw for the Gers at Tannadice, coupled with a win for Celtic, would see the title remain at Parkhead. Celtic missed out on the chance to overtake Rangers as they could only draw at Easter Road against Hibs last week. Scott McDonald and Gary Caldwell had the best opportunities of the game for Celtic, but the Bhoys could simply not find a winner against Hibs.

This could also be Shunsuke Nakamura’s last league game for Celtic. The Japanese playmaker is expected to return to his native country in the summer, despite Celtic’s efforts to make him stay for another season. PFA player of the year Scott Brown, who was substituted in the closing stages of the game with an ankle injury, is expected to be fit for the clash against Hearts.

It has been nothing short of a great season for Hearts. Csaba Laszlo’s men have already booked a spot in next season’s Europa League, and could decide the course of the SPL title on Sunday. Hearts beat Dundee United 3-0 in their last game, with goals from Lee Wallace, Bruno Aguiar and Eggert Jonsson.

Aguiar could be playing his last game for Hearts on Sunday as he has been linked with a move away from Tynecastle this summer. The same goes for Christos Karipidis, who is heading for Cyprus next season. Marius Zaliukas missed the game against Dundee due to suspension, but is back for this game. Midfielder Laryea Kingston is out due to injury.

Europe bound Hearts could spoil Celtic’s title ambitions when they visit Parkhead to take on Gordon Strachan’s men. Bruno Aguiar could be playing his last game for Hearts this weekend when Csaba Laszlo’s men meet Celtic on the final day of the SPL season.

Currently the Celtics are leading the Scottish League table with 22 points as they have played 9 matches so far and won seven out of those nine matches. The matches to be held this week are yet to take place and the results will surely bring about a change to the scoreboard but so far the Rangers are the biggest challenge to the Celtic team as they have gained 19 points so far but by playing just 8 matches.

The hearts, on the other hand, have 13 points for themselves as they have won four out of nine matches, scored a draw in one of the matches and lost the other 4. Last weekend the Celtics were matches against Inverness CT and they won the match with a scoreboard of 2-1 whereas the Hearts faced the Hibernians and scored 1-1 and thus it was a draw. The upcoming match is very important for the Celtics as they would need to win in order to stay the leaders. If they loose the Rangers have a high chance to override them on the league table.
