Following on from last week’s reversal to Dundee United, Celtic face St. Mirren at Celtic Park this coming Saturday and will be looking for nothing other than the three points as they bid to regain top spot from bitter rivals Rangers who swapped places with Celtic at the top of the table thanks to their win against Kilmarnock. See how the Hoops get on against the Saints by tuning into oleolefootball.com and watching the live stream footy from Scotland in all its glory.

World cup Live

Celtic travelled to Dundee United last Sunday in what was always going to be a difficult encounter, especially as Dundee United are flying so high so far this season. Nevertheless, when Celtic took a 72nd minute lead via a Robson penalty the writing looked on the wall for Dundee United. But United are made of sterner stuff than that this season and they hit an equaliser in the 83rd minute with a goal from Daly. As the game was reaching an inevitable conclusion, United’s Dods popped up in the 90th minute to score United’s second, sending the home fans into hysterics while the away support put their heads in their hands in disbelief.

The consequence of this defeat was that arch rivals Rangers stole the leadership from them in the SPL table. To make matters worse for Celtic fans, Rangers also have a game in hand over their rivals (which just happen to be against...Dundee United away).

For their part, St Mirren travel to Parkhead on the back of a 1-1 home draw with Hibs. The sit seventh in the league table with thirteen points, and away from home their record reads played five, won two and lost three.

Celtic are still in an euphoric mood after snatching away the Scottish premier League title from Rangers on the penultimate round of matches in the SPL. Celtic looked to be well and nighly out the race but for a last ditch comeback and their third title in a row will give them confidence going into this clash with St. Mirren. Celtic arguably have the finest squad in the league with the likes of Hinkel, Nakamura and Mcgeady all in top form. A victory here will give the Bhoys a great head start going into a tough season and with home conditions playing to their advantage, a heavy victory is a much fancied result.

St. Mirren on the other hand, will be happy to ensure survival last time around when they looked destined for relegation at one point of time. However, the subsequent collapse of Gretna both on and off the field made matters much easier for St. Mirren and they will be hoping to build upon the momentum going into their clash with Celtic. While a victory would be highly improbable given the current form of Celtic, do not put it across tenacious St. Mirren to pull up a draw from their clash against Celtic.
