Rangers’ fans are on a high at the moment because they feel certain that this year’s Scottish Premier League is already in the bag. Champions Rangers face a difficult trip to struggling Kilmarnock in the early kick-off on Saturday. Killie has struggled so far this season in the SPL but will be hoping to pull off a shock victory over the Gers. Rangers have had a superb start to the season and currently sit top of the table. Kilmarnock hasn’t started the season in the best of form in the SPL and will be underdogs in this clash. However home advantage could be just the spur they need to get their season back on track. Killie have received a boost this week with Celtic’s on-loan goalkeeper Mark Brown revealing that he would like to stay at Rugby Park on a permanent deal.

The on-loan keeper will continue in place of Alan Combe, who has just had surgery on his hip. Killie are also still without striker Kevin Kyle with a knee problem and Jamie Fowler who is suffering with a hernia problem.

Rangers have made a good start to their SPL campaign. They have ten points from a possible twelve. In their last outing the Gers drew 0-0 at Motherwell. Keeper Allan McGregor was the hero as he saved a penalty. However Madjid Bougherra received a red card for two bookable offences. It was the first time the champions have failed to win in the league.

The Algerian has apologised for the incident and has vowed never to see red again. The 26 year-old will miss this clash after that red card. Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty is still missing with an injury picked up on international duty with his national side.
