AC Milan were also sent crashing out of the UEFA Cup this week at the hands of Werder Bremen, stunning the San Siro as well as the majority of staff and players. The sides drew 1-1 in the first leg at Bremen, before Andrea Pirlo and Alexandre Pato sent the Serie A giants into the lead before half-time. The game seemed under wraps until Claudio Pizarro netted a brace in the 68^th and 78^th minute to send Bremen through on the away goal rule.

Victory on the weekend could see Milan move above Juventus in the table to second place should Juve lost against Napoli on the weekend. Carlo Ancelotti’s side has already admitted defeat in catching Internazionale for the title this year, but will still look to improve on last year’s poor 5^th place finish.
