FC Copenhagen currently sit in 2nd place in the Danish Superliga as they chase their 6th title in 9 years. The Danish giants had their worst finish to a season since they came 8th in 2000 after finishing 3rd in the Superliga last year behind AaB and FC Midtjylland. The Danish side reached the first knockout stage after finishing 3rd in Group G of the UEFA Cup group stages behind St. Etienne and Valencia.

Manchester City meanwhile finished top of a tough group A including the likes of Schalke, PSG and FC Twente. The side come into the game on the back of a poor 2-0 defeat at the hands of managerless Portsmouth, leaving the mega rich side 9th in the table with little hope of European qualification this year.

Brazilian star Robinho is a doubt for Thursday’s tie after limping off during the weekend clash against Portsmouth due to a thigh injury. New signings Craig Bellamy, Wayne Bridge and Shay Given will all be available to play after joining City’s official UEFA Cup squad though Nigel De Jong is left out.
