When Werder entertained Udinese in the first leg in Bremen, they came away with a very healthy 3-1 lead, thanks to two goals from Diego and one from Hugo Almeida. Werder Bremen drew 1-1 away to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday and are now tenth in the Bundesliga with 36 points. They, like Udinese, appear to have very little chance of European qualification next season unless they win this seasons UEFA Cup.
