North Korea is looking to make a win tomorrow, in fact, they have their hearts set on it. If they win, it will be the first time in 44 years that they will get their ticket to the World Cup. If they win, they'll certainly be in, but even if they draw they could still make it to the finals, depending upon the results of the game against Iran against South Korea – who has already qualified – in Seoul. Saudi Arabia and North Korea are tied on the Asia Group standings with 11 points in group B.

Iran is in fourth place with 10 points, which means they will have to beat South Korea to have any chance of qualifying, a feat which will be difficult based on South Korea's record this season. The last time that North Korea participated in a final was in 1966, in England, and they made it to the quarter-finals. If they do qualify, it will be a first for both North and South Korea to make it to the World Cup together. Saudi Arabia however, has made it to the past four World Cup finals, and this will be their fifth consecutive unless North Korea beats them, which is unlikely since North Korea has never won on Saudi soil.

Iran's coach Afshin Qotbi said that he believes that Iran will qualify as his players have the self confidence to beat South Korea on their own turf, even though that hasn't happened for the past four qualifiers. He also said that he might know the South Korea squad better than their own coach, after being with them for two World Cups.

Australia and Japan have already taken the two top spots in group A, and they will play in Melbourne with Australia as the favorite. Australia already is two points ahead, and if they draw or win they will top the list. Japan must win to do so. Mark Schwarzer, the goalkeeper for Australia said that they hope to beat Japan without giving up a single goal, in the last part of the qualifiers.
