Arsenal will have to pick up some silverware after three years of good football but no trophies. This year will be the year of reckoning for many of Arsenal’s young guns and their performance is imperative to Arsenal’s success both in the Emirates Cup as well as the FA Premier League. Arsenal have had a mixed transfer market so far losing the likes of Gilberto Silva, Flamini and Helb to greener pastures elsewhere. Although, they have added up the likes of Sameer Nasri and Ramsey in the middle of the park, the transfer of three top midfielders will be a huge void to fill for the Gunners. One player who will be eager to make an impact is Theo Walcott. Arsene Wenger has urged the upcoming teenager to contribute more this season and it will be interesting to see how the 19 year old teenager responds against the Old lady of Turin at the Emirates.

Juventus have had a great transfer season with the capture of players of calibre such as Olef Mellberg from Aston Villa, Poulsen from Sevilla and Amauri from Palermo. Although the Turin based side finished third last year last season behind Roma and Inter, they are favoured to do much better this time around and the Emirates trophy provides them the ideal platform to take a step in the right direction. Juventus will however be way of their last away meeting with Arsenal, a fixture in which they lost out 2-0 to goals from Henry and Fabregas and will be hoping for a much polished performance this time around .
