Motherwell will be looking to lay claim on the third place and establish a healthy lead over chasing Dundee United with an away victory over Falkirk this weekend, coverage starting from 15:00 1st March 2008.

Motherwell are currently three points ahead of fourth placed Dundee United and have the added advantage of two spare matches in hand as compared to chasing Dundee United. However, Motherwell did lose a bit of ground last weekend when they slipped up at home against Hearts. Hearts claimed the points in controversial circumstances at Easter Road courtesy a rare own goal by Stephen Craigan in a match of ups and downs. Motherwell will be boosted by the signing of Mark McGhee for this clash after the released Derby midfielder was snapped up last week.

Falkirk like Motherwell are having a fine season in the league and look destined to qualify for the UEFA Cup with a midtable finish this season. Falkirk are currently sixth in the table with thirty six points and could push up ahead of Hibernian with a victory over Motherwell this weekend. Falkirk will be missing striker Carl Finnigan for this clash due to a groin injury suffered in Falkirk’s midweek clash and he will join Dean Holden, Brian Allison, Tim Krul and Michael Higdon in the sidelines. Falkirk have been dogged with injuries all season and having come this far already, they will be hoping to maintain that form with a victory against Motherwell at the Falkirk stadium this weekend.
